Death is a fact of life, an appointment. The only way we can escape death is to be alive when the Lord
Jesus Christ returns.
I once saw a quaint inscription on a gravestone in an old British cemetery not far from Windsor
Castle. It read:
Pause, my friend, as you walk by;
As you are now, so once was I.
As I am now, so you will be.
Prepare, my friend, to follow me!
I heard about a visitor who read that epitaph and added these lines:
To follow you is not my intent,
Until I know which way you went!
Good Sews: “Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from
God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands” (2 Corinthians 5:1, NIV).
Other passages: Psalms 23:4; 49:15; 73:24; Romans 14:7-8;
1 Corinthians 15:57.
Action assignment: Memorize a verse of assurance and repeat it to someone today. Thank God for
the provisions He has promised you after you leave this life.
