EXODUS 11:2-3
“Speak now in the hearing of the people, and let every man ask from his neighbor and every
woman from her neighbor, articles of silver and articles of gold.” And the Lord gave the people
favor in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt,
in the sight of Pharaoh’s servants and in the sight of the people.
One has to wonder about the justice system in the United States. Georgia Supreme Court Justice
Charles L. Weltner observed Right now a person who has been through the system and is
contemplating a crime probably views things as follows: (1) If I do it I won’t get caught; (2) If I
get caught I won’t get prosecuted; (3) If I get prosecuted I won’t get convicted; (4) If I get
convicted I won’t go to prison; (5) If I go to prison it won’t be for very long.”
God’s justice system, on the other hand is never misguided. As His people prepared to leave
Egypt, God knew that they had been treated unfairly. For 400 years they served their Egyptian
masters with no recompense.
Therefore, God instructed each family member to ask for articles of silver and gold from their
Egyptian tormentors. By this means God not only brought judgment on the Egyptians, He also
provided restitution for the Israelites. Justice was finally accomplished, even though from a
human perspective it took a while.
If you are experiencing an unjust situation. If you are being taken advantage of, be assured that
God is aware of it. You also can be certain He will bring about a just solution, the right solution,
at the right time. Don’t let injustice defeat you. Instead, rest in God’s justice. It may grind slowly,
but it grinds very thoroughly. It will grind for you.
WITH GOD, JUSTICE DELAYED IS NOT JUSTICE DENIED
