Exodus 3:8-9
“So I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites. Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel has come to Me, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them.”

Cheryl Cassiday is a registered nurse in Chadron, Nebraska. One cold February afternoon she arrived at the Chadron Arts Center to pick up her daughter, Rachael, from her dance lessons. “I had another errand to run,” she said, “but as I turned the corner I chose not to pick up the milk.” That decision probably saved the lives of her daughter and eight other people. Instead of waiting in the car as she usually did, Cheryl went into the dance studio. There she found her daughter, six other students, the dance instructor and the instructor’s father all overcome by carbon monoxide poison ing. With help from the family across the street, she was able to pull everyone out of the building and revive them. Mrs. Cassiday’s conclusion: “Somebody was watching out for these girls besides me.”

Moses discovered the same thing. Somebody was watching over the people of Israel. God told him, “I have seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them.”

The God who created human sight is not blind. In fact, nothing escapes His eyes. The psalmist says, “His eyes observe the nations” (Psalm 66:7), and the writer of Chronicles notes, “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him” (2 Chronicles 16:9). Not for a moment are God’s people out of His sight!

If you have fears and worries, remember Somebody is watching over you. Your Heavenly Father will never forget you nor forsake you. At the appropriate time and in His own way, He will deliver you from all your troubles.
