The sober-minded believer has a calm, sane outlook on life. He is not complacent, but neither is he
frustrated and afraid. He hears the tragic news of the day, yet he does not lose heart. He experiences
the difficulties of life, but he does not give up.
He knows his future is secure in God’s hands, so he lives each day creatively, calmly, and obediently.
Outlook determines outcome; and when your outlook is the uplook, then your outcome is secure.
Believe this: “The Lord God will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set
my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed” (Isaiah 50:7). Also: Micah 7:7; Romans 8:28; Hebrews 4:16
Action assignment: List several concerns you have, and ask God to give you peace to live each day
with the assurance that you are in His hands.
