JEREMIAH 50:34
Their Redeemer is strong; the LORD of hosts is His name. He will thoroughly plead their
case, that He may give rest to the land, end.disquiet the inhabitants ofBabylon.
Depending on how you choose to measure strength, it could be said that Chris Lawton of
Solihull, England, is the strongest man in the world. According to the 1998 Guinness Book of
Records Lawton bench-pressed 1,181,312 pounds over12-hour period.
‘ .
Yet this record pales in significance when God is taken into ‘account. Jeremiah declared that
even though Israel was now oppressed; It wouldn’t always be that way.The armies of
Nebuchadnezzar were potent fighting machines, but they could do only what God allowed them
to do.
There would come a time when the sword would be turned against the Chaldeans and the
inhabitants of Babylon (Jer.50:35-37). The strong Redeemer of Israel, the Lordof hosts, would rise
up and in the day of reckoning restore His people to their land. All the mighty armies in the world
would not keep that from happening.
When disasters come crashing into our lives, We sometimes question God’s Power. We think, If
God is so string, why did this happen? Yet God assures us that whatever happens, He is strong
enough to deal with it.
Even though He allows powerful forces to discipline and chastise us, when the time is right, these
same powers cannot stand against His judgments. While God may use the strength of others to work
His will, none are strong than He.
Do not judge God’s strength by what you see. While the forces of evil may seem to be
overwhelming, they are but instruments in God’s omnipotent hands.
When God permits difficulties to come into your life, it’s not because He’s not powerful enough to
stop them when that trial has done its work, God’s power will take it away. Trust Him. No one is
stronger than God.
WITH THE POWER OF GOD WITHIN US, WE NEED NEVER FEAR THE POWERS
AROUND US.
